Family Engagement and Leadership

Speaking out for quality public schools is more complicated than ever before. Parents want to know about education standards, school accountability, school boards and testing.  Our PPS Parent Engagement Program (PEP) is a customized multi-day education opportunity that prepares parents to be knowledgeable education leaders.

School success takes great leadership, effective teachers and engaged parents.  We believe that parents are an essential education partner from the moment their children are born.

Our parent engagement programs provide knowledge and skills in the three PPS areas of focus:

  • leadership development
  • education and information
  • organizing for action

Early Childhood PEP

Early Childhood PEP

Helping parents understand how early the building blocks of learning begin with healthy brain development is the goal of our PPS Early Childhood Development Parent Engagement Program (ECD PEP).  Our ECD Program works with parents, caregivers, and family members to ensure a healthy start for young children, as well, as preparing parents to be effective education partners with their children’s schools.

Graduation Ready

Graduation Ready

Our dual-generation Graduation Ready Program helps parents understand the trajectory of career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation while creating an opportunity for conversation around mindset and student success with their children.

Parent Engagement Program

Parent Engagement Program

Our multi day Parent Engagement Program prepares parents to be effective partners in the education system.  Parents learn how schools run, develop effective communication tools, understand the accountability systems in their state while creating their own leadership plan to reduce barriers to learning at home, school or in their community.

Parents and schools working together

Who better to help schools understand how to effectively work with parents than an organization that began when a group of parents advocated for their public schools? PPS has developed a series of professional development components to help schools and teachers build parent teams.
