Jackson, MS – Parents for Public Schools® (PPS) proudly announces its 2025–2026 National Board of Directors, a dynamic group of leaders representing education, policy, law, healthcare, and community advocacy across the country. Together, they will guide the organization’s mission to strengthen public schools by engaging, educating, and mobilizing parents as active partners in their children’s education.

Board members play a vital role in shaping PPS’s direction by setting goals, making policy, ensuring fiscal oversight, and championing the organization’s mission to promote quality public education for every child. Each member brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting families, teachers, and communities through advocacy, collaboration, and leadership.

PPS National Board President Jacqueline Griffin welcomed the incoming board with a message of encouragement and purpose:

Across our nation, public education faces challenges that test the very foundation of equal opportunity and democracy. It is our collective commitment, resolve, and creativity that will ensure we not only withstand these challenges but continue to move our organization forward with vigor and vision.”

As the new board begins its term, PPS Executive Director Joann Mickens emphasized the importance of its continued leadership and collaboration in advancing the organization’s mission and ensuring that parents remain powerful advocates for public education:

Board members will serve during the 2025–2026 fiscal year, working collaboratively to expand PPS’s reach, advocate for equitable education policy, and empower parents to take active roles in shaping their local schools.
